(Isoodon auratus)
The golden bandicut (Isoodon auratus) is a species of peramelemorph marsupial of the Peramelidae family,native to northern Australia.It is by far the smallest of the genus Isoodon,with little more than half the size of its relatives,the northern brown bandico (I.macrourus) and the southern brown bandico (I.Obesulus ).It measures 30 cm from the head to the top of the tail,and its tail of 15 cm.Its weight is 250 to 650 g.Its back is golden with some black hairs;the sides are reddish in color and the belly is cream colored.The marsupial bag opens towards the back.
