(Pusa sibirica)
The seal of the Bajkal or nerpa (Pusa sibirica) is a focemic endemic to the great Lake Baikal in Siberia.It is one of the smallest pinnipeds in the world and also the most long-lived,living up to 50 years.The seal of the Bajkal is about 130/140 cm long and weighs up to 70 kilos;the males are slightly larger.The fur of the animal has a color that varies in shades between black and white,dark gray in the upper part and light gray in the lower one;the color is differently distributed on the body from specimen to specimen.
