Description

The northern chupasavia ( Sphyrapicus varius ) is a species of piciforme bird of the Picidae family that lives in North America,Central America and the Caribbean.The back and wings are black with white stripes.The head is black with white stripes on the sides.The forehead and the crown are red.The chest and upper part of the belly are yellowish.The rest of the belly and the haunch are white,and the tail is black with a white stripe in the center.The throat of the males is red,while that of the females is white.
