The boodie ( Bettongia lesueur Quoy and Gaimard,1824 ),also known as bettongia digatrice,is a small marsupial related to kangaroos.It is a fascinating example of how the species introduced by humans have influenced Australian fauna and ecosystems.The boodie,once the most common macropodiform mammal of the entire continent,today lives only on some islets and in a population recently introduced in the hinterland of the Bay of the Sharks.
