Description

The Taiko fardela or Taiko Petrel ( magenta petrel ) is a kind of bird procelariforme family of proceláridos ( Procellariidae ).The first specimen of this species was collected by the Italian ship Magenta on July 22,1867 in the southern Pacific Ocean,halfway between New Zealand and South America.Formerly spread over the Chatham Islands,it is now limited to the valleys and forests south-west of the island.
