Scaturiginichthys vermeilipinnis is a species of fish in the Pseudomugilidae family.It is endemic to Australia,more precisely in central Queensland,where the remaining population is restricted in only a few watersheds to one of the reserves of Bush Heritage Australia,a nonprofit entity that seeks to purchase private territories for protection and creation of nature reserves.The species is in critical danger due to the expansion of the species Mosquito East Fish.The male is easily recognized for having its fins a vivid color while the female has little coloration.
