Description

The' Amazon becconero (Amazona agilis Linnaeus,1758) is a bird of the family of Psittacidae.Akin to the Yellow- billed Amazon,but characterized by the anthracite-colored beak,like the legs,this small-size rider,25 cm,has a general green plumage,with a bluish mark on the forehead and an evident intense blue wing band.It presents an obvious sexual dimorphism because the male has on the wing a red sign of which the female is deprived.Extremely rare,it is located exclusively in the forests of the John Crown Mountains in Jamaica.
