Description

The parakeet frontegialla (Cyanoramphus auriceps) is a bird of the family of Psittaculidi.With a size of around 23 cm,it has a general plumage of green,shaded in yellow on the lower parts,a red forehead,a yellow crown,a beak and gray legs and an orange iris.The young have a short tail and a brown iris.In the past it was classified into two subspecies: C.a.auriceps,located in New Zealand and the Auckland Islands,and C.e.scissors,located in the Chatham Islands.Currently,however,scholars consider this a separate species,the Chatham Parish ( C.forbesi ).
