The Sakalava Reef ( Amaurornis olivieri G.Grandidier and Berlioz,1929 ) is a bird of the Rallidi family from Madagascar Since it was discovered in 1929,the rare and extremely shy Sakalava rooster has been sighted only a few times.This small rallo (19 cm) is predominantly dark gray-slate,with the feathers of the wings and brown-brown back.The iris is bright red,the beak is yellow and the big paws are reddish-pink in color.The young specimens differ from the adults to have the completely brown-sooty plumage and the black beak
