Description

The bandecamoscio ( Gallirallus philippensis Linnaeus,1766 ) is a bird of the family of the Rallids widespread in most of Australasia and on many islands of the southwest Pacific,including the Philippines (where it is known by the name of Tickling ),New Guinea,Australia and New Zealand (where it is called Banded Rail,"banded rallo",or Moho-pereru in Maori language ),as well as on a large number of smaller islands,from the tropics to the sub-Antarctic region.
