Description

The pechigrís toucan or Andean Terlaque ( Andigena hypoglauca ) is a member of the genus of toucans Andigena,typical of the forests Andean of Colombia,Peru and Ecuador,preferably between 2,400 and 3,400 m of altitude,but may be between 2.000 1 and 3,650 meters above sea level.It is a bird threatened by habitat loss.It measures on average 46 cm in length.The bill measures between 8.9 and 10.2 cm long and is colored,in the lower part yellow at the base and black towards the tip,at the top yellow at the base separated by a thin black stripe of the rest that is Red.Crown and nape to the sides of the head black;turquoise blue eyepiece ring;back and front face of olive-brown wings;Yellow upper rump and blackish tail with brown tip.A collar under the nape of the neck,belly and chest grayish blue;the lower red rump.
