(Rana italica)
The Apennine frog ( Rana italica Dubois,1987 ) is a frog of the family Ranidae,endemic of ' Italy.Dimensions up to 7 - 7.5 cm,generally reddish coloring,can vary from light beige,yellowish brown or greenish.Dark-colored throat with an irregular uneven line in the middle,two dark streaks on the sides of the snout behind the eyes.On the back there may be small black dots or sometimes a dark pattern like an inverted V.Long legs that do not exceed the muzzle if extended forward,well spaced dorsal folds,on the hind legs ventrally there are pearly granules.
