Description

Rana Sierrae is a herbaceous species described by Charles Lewis Camp in 1917.The species is part of the genus Rana and the family's actual frogs.The IUCN categorizes Rana sierrae globally as highly threatened.No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life.The species lives in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California and in the westernmost parts of Nevada near Lake Tahoe.Rana Sierrae prefer to live on sunny river banks,streams that flow through meadows,isolated pools and meadows.The frogs usually occur in lakes at high altitudes and in slowly moving parts of streams.They rarely come far from water even though they can cross highlands when they move between summer and winter environments.Winter resorts include,for example,shores close to the beaches and deep underwater cracks.
