Description

The milky owl or royal owl of Verreaux (Bubo lacteus (Temminck,1820)) is a large bird belonging to the Strigidae family,widespread in Africa.Despite being smaller than the eagle owl and the common owl,it has a large size and a length of 53-61 cm.The plumage is uniformly brownish gray,lighter and finely striped in black on the lower parts.Two dark stripes mark the dirty-white facial disc.The iris is brownish black.The wingspan is 150 cm and the female is slightly larger than the male.
