Ninox ios is a species of bird in the Strigidae family.endemic species of Indonesia can be found in the central elevations of Sulawesi.The species was officially described in 1999 based on a specimen collected by Frank Rozendaal in the Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park on the Minahassa peninsula in northern Sulawesi in 1985
