(Morus capensis)
It is easily identifiable by its large size,by its black and white plumage and by its distinctive yellow crown and back of the neck. The peak,of pale blue tone,is sharp, with serrated endings near its end.Perhaps because of the depth and speed of the dive of the gannet while fishing (depending on the height, the gannet penetrates the water at speeds between 40 and 120 kilometers per hour 2 ),its peak does not have external nostrils, which the water could penetrate.
