(Tapirus terrestris)
The tapir of South America is dark brown,with a light brown stripe on the cheeks,throat and chest.He has a stocky body,strong limbs with three-fingered legs and a low mane that runs from head to back.The snout is elongated and ends with the characteristic proboscis;the ears have a white tip. The tapas of South America can reach the length of 2 meters (plus the tail,about 50 cm),the height at the withers of one meter and 250 kilograms of weight.Its average life is 25-30 years.
