Description

The Yetapá de Collar (in Argentina and Paraguay ) or Yetapá Acollarado ( Alectrurus risora ),also called the tijereta de las pajas (in Uruguay ) or jetapá'i (in Guaraní ),is a species of passerine bird,one of both belonging to the genus Alectrurus of the Tyrannidae family.It is native to South America.It mainly inhabits the south of Paraguay and the north of Argentina,concentrating in the provinces of Formosa and Corrientes.In serious regression due to the destruction of its habitat,it is considered vulnerable by the IUCN and is listed in Appendix I of CITES.
