Description

Nyctophilus timoriensis is a flutter mice first described by E.Geoffroy 1806.Nyctophilus timoriensis is included in the genus Nyctophilus and the family leather flaps.The IUCN categorizes the species globally as insufficiently studied.No subspecies are listed in the Catalog of Life.Wilson & Reeder (2005) distinguishes between three subspecies.This bat is found in southern and eastern australia as well as in eastern new guinea.For individuals found in Timor,they are not entirely clear if they belong to this species or a close relative.The species resides in the lowlands and in mountain ranges up to 1600 meters above sea level.Nyctophilus timoriensis is usually observed in forests or savannas with hardwoods or eucalyptus.It also lives in other semi-dry areas.
