Description

Trimeresurus rubeus, commonly known as the ruby-eyed green pit viper, is a venomous pit viper species endemic to Southeast Asia. No subspecies are currently recognized. This species was discovered in the surrounding area of Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh city, across the low hills of southern Vietnam including Cat Tien National Park, in the Langbian Plateau area and in eastern Cambodia by researchers at Bangor University.
