Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at frigid air over the northeastern United States.

Arctic northwesterly winds pushing over the Atlantic Ocean formed “cloud streets,” which are long parallel rows of cumulus clouds.

This image was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board the Terra satellite.
