Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory shows the massive burn scar from a wildfire in western Australia that has engulfed at least two million acres of rural land.

The fire, which is located about 80 miles southeast of Broome, was ignited by lightning on October 11, 2018. Over the last few weeks, the blaze has been accelerated by heat and windy conditions.

This image was captured on October 22 by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on Landsat 8.
