Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at the Bonneville Salt Flats in northern Utah.

These flats are indeed some of the flattest places on Earth, which make them an ideal location for racing events aimed at setting land-speed records.

This image was captured by an astronaut on board the International Space Station.
