Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at Cambodia’s newest water reservoir.

The water body is the result of Cambodia’s recent push toward hydropower and the construction of the Lower Sesan II dam in the Stung Treng province. In 2010, only 3 percent of the country’s electricity came from hydropower, but by 2016, it contributed 60 percent of it.

This image was captured by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on board the Landsat 8 satellite.
