Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory features the ever-shifting shape of the Amazon River highlighted by the reflection of sunlight.

The Amazon is considered to be the largest river in the world in terms of volume, and is also known for having the highest volume of sediment discharge. This persistent erosion causes the meanders to constantly shift, which can be seen in this image captured from the International Space Station (ISS).
