Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory features an unobstructed view of Ireland’s West Region.

The predominantly rural area is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the River Shannon to the east. The diverse lands of the Connemara National Park cover nearly 3,000 hectares in between, consisting of grasslands, woodlands, and mountains such as the majestic Twelve Bens.

This image was captured by a member of the Expedition 54 crew aboard the International Space Station.
