Potent dust storm in the Sahara Desert • Earth.com

Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at a strong dust storm whipping across the Sahara Desert.

In March 2018, the Sahara endured stronger and more frequent dust storms than usual. As a result, dust from the desert spread across Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Atlantic Ocean.

This image was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board the Terra satellite.
