Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at violent dust storms blowing across western Asia this past month.

Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan all experienced the forceful dust storms, which reached hurricane-force winds of 70 miles per hour on May 28, 2018.

This image was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board the Terra satellite.
