Great Salt Lake in northern Utah •

Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at the Great Salt Lake in northern Utah.

The Great Salt Lake is the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere, covering an area of roughly 1,700 square miles, although its size often fluctuates due to its shallow water levels.

This image was captured by an astronaut on board the International Space Station.
