Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at at the Tracy Glacier and Halperin Glacier in Greenland as they continue to retreat due to warming temperatures.

Since 2000, both glaciers have been shrinking in size at unusually fast rates. The Tracy Glacier has lost 364 meters per year, while the Halperin Glacier has retreated by 109 meters per year.

This image was captured by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on board the Landsat 8 satellite.
