Today’s Image of the Day comes courtesy of the European Space Agency (ESA) and features a look at North Africa’s High Atlas mountain range.

This image was captured by ESA’s Proba-V satellite, showing vegetation in false-color red.

The Atlas Mountains are actually a collection of five different mountain ranges that serve as a border between the northern Mediterranean climate and the dry Sahara climate.
