Hot and dry conditions in Pakistan and India • Earth.com

Last update: August 25th, 2019 at 2:00 pm

Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory represents the hot temperatures in India and Pakistan on June 10.

The hot and dry conditions are typical of these regions in May amd June, but heatwaves have been on the rise. Eleven of India’s 15 warmest years have occurred since 2004.

While monsoon rains have brought relief to some areas, the monsoon season is delayed and may not arrive in north or central India until early July.
