Today’s Image of the Day comes courtesy of the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at Hurricane Maria over Puerto Rico.

As we reported, Hurricane Maria made landfall on Puerto Rico with winds of up to 155 miles per hour, leaving the entire island without power.

This image was captured by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite 13 (GOES-13), combined with data from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS).
