Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at ice across the Transantarctic Mountains in Antarctica.

The Transantarctic Mountains span the length of the continent and divide East Antarctica from West Antarctica.

The image was captured by researchers on NASA’s Operation IceBridge, a flight mission to map polar ice.
