Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at Lake Mead and the Colorado River.

Lake Mead is located in both Nevada and Arizona and is the largest reservoir in the United States. At its maximum capacity, the lake measures 112 miles long, 532 feet deep, and holds 26.12 million acre feet of water.

This image was captured by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on board the Landsat 8 satellite.
