Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at Lake Garda, the largest lake in the country of Italy.

Lake Garda measures 34 miles in length and varies in width from anywhere between 2 and 11 miles. It is located roughly halfway between the cities of Milan and Venice where the southern Alps intersect with the Po River Valley.
