Today’s Image of the Day comes courtesy of the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at the city of Le Havre, France and the English Channel.

Le Havre is located along the northern coast of France in the upper Normandy area and serves as the largest container port in the country. The city was mostly destroyed during World War II, but was then rebuilt under the direction of architect Auguste Perret.

This image was captured by astronauts on board the International Space Station.
