An extensive bank of low clouds (fog) stretched over the Maritimes and New England. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA’s Terra satellite acquired this true-color image on November 19.
Fog spreads across the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and follows the course of the St. Lawrence River valley before reaching into western New York State. A large bank of low cloud covers much of New Brunswick, Canada and fingers of fog reached into numerous valleys and over the Penobscot River in Maine as well as along the Connecticut River Valley between Vermont and New Hampshire. Additional fog has draped across Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
