Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory shows major flooding along the Mississippi River near Memphis that was caused by intense storms.

The flooding will continue into the week of March 4, when the river is expected to rise seven feet above flood stage to 41 feet.

The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings across the region until March 12.

This false-color image was captured on February 25, 2019 by the Operational Land Imager on Landsat 8.
