Today’s Image of the Day comes from the European Space Agency (ESA) and photographer Ollie Taylor and features a look at a meteoroid captured at dusk in Italy.

The image was captured on November 14, 2017 as Taylor happened to be on a photoshoot. Visible in the background is the village of La Villa, Alta Badia, with Ursa Major in the evening sky.

The meteoroid actually entered the atmosphere northeast of Darmstadt, Germany, but was visible across France, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, and Italy.
