Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory shows heavy rainfall that accumulated in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States between July 20 and July 23, 2018.

In some regions, record-breaking rainfall has triggered flash floods and caused school closings. Tropical air from the Caribbean moving up the Eastern Seaboard could still bring several more inches of rainfall to some areas and could lead to significant flooding.
