Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at the gray and brown mountaintops of the southern Antarctic Peninsula.

These are the Crewick Peaks, located just east of George VI Sound, sticking out on the Antarctic Peninsula’s southwestern end.

This image was captured by NASA scientist Nathan Kurtz and the IceBridge Digital Mapping System.
