Today’s Image of the Day comes courtesy of the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at Sandy Lake located in northwest Ontario.

Sandy Lake gets its mocha color from fine clay sediment that was laid at the bottom of glacial lakes as the North American continental ice sheet began to retreat.

This image was captured by astronauts on board the International Space Station.
