Monsoon season brings severe flooding to south Asia • Earth.com

Today’s Image of the Day comes thanks to the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at severe flooding in south Asia.

The 2017 summer monsoon brought much heavier rains than usual, causing terrible flooding in Nepal, Bangladesh, and northern India. Over 40 million people have been affected, with millions now living in refugee camps.

This image was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) onboard the Terra satellite.
