Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at ship tracks forming in the north Atlantic Ocean.

Ship tracks are narrow clouds that form when water vapor condenses around small particles of pollution released from ships as exhaust.

This image was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board the Aqua satellite.
