Today’s Image of the Day comes courtesy of the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world.

Ushuaia is also known as the “gateway to Antarctica” due to its close proximity to the continent. The city is located 150 miles southeast of Punta Arenas.

This image was captured by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on board the Landsat 8 satellite.
