Today’s Image of the Day comes from the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at ice melting along the Beaufort Sea as a result of warming spring temperatures.

The Arctic sea ice extent reached it peak on March 17, 2018, marking the second-lowest maximum on record.

This image was captured on April 15, 2018 by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on board the Landsat 8 satellite.
