Today’s Image of the Day comes courtesy of the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at a sunrise over the Philippine Sea.

This image was captured by an astronaut on board the International Space Station, 250 miles above the coast of Vietnam.

Interestingly enough, astronauts get to see sixteen different sunrises every 24 hours. But they still have to protect their eyes, which is why a digital image provides the safest way way to watch.
