Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory shows the floodwaters left behind from Super Typhoon Mangkhut on the Philippine island of Luzon.

According to the United Nations, the typhoon caused hundreds of millions of dollars in crop losses and destroyed or damaged nearly 1,500 homes.

This image was captured in northern Luzon on September 17, 2018, by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite.
