Today’s Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory features the Port of Busan, which is located at the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula.

According to NASA, the port has been a trading hub since at least the 15th century, and is now one of the world’s ten busiest container ports.

The landscape surrounding the port has changed dramatically over the last three decades.

This image was acquired from the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on Landsat 8 in 2017.
